    Sample McDougald Preservation Society

In many parts of the country a one-hundred-year-old house would attract little attention, but in South Florida, a century takes us back to the beginning of our communities’ modern history. One hundred years after its construction, the preserved Sample-McDougald House is an important part of Pompano Beach’s social, cultural and civic life.  It connects current residents and visitors with our region’s fascinating heritage.

The mission of the Sample-McDougald House is to preserve, interpret and share its history & culture.

    Honor Flight South Florida

Honor Flight South Florida is a 100% all-volunteer organization, dedicated solely to honoring all veterans in Broward, Dade, and Monroe counties.  In the final chapters of their lives, it’s a race against time to fly these veterans to Washington D.C. to visit and reflect at the memorials built in their honor.

First priority for a trip is given to World War II veterans.  Terminally ill veterans of any service period may be given the same priority as WWII veterans (physician statement required.)

The veteran’s one-day mission to Washington D.C. includes round-trip airfare, deluxe bus transportation throughout Washington with police escorts, meals, commemorative tee shirts, and other amenities needed to travel comfortably.  Disabled veterans are also welcome; with advance arrangements, honor chairs and oxygen are available.

    9463 Foundation

Costume's encouraged!  Don't miss our annual Halloween Fundraiser, where we'll be mixing and mingling for a good cause. This event has become a tradition in our community, bringing together people of all ages to celebrate the spooky holiday while giving back to those in need.

We encourage you to get creative with your costumes - whether it's a classic witch or zombie outfit, or something completely out-of-the-box, the more unique the better!

    -------------------------------------

The mission of the, “9463 Foundation for Florida’s Fallen Officers” is to: remember fallen heroes, educate the public, and support and assist the families who have lost loved ones while they were serving our community.

The foundation unwittingly began on August 10, 2007 at 1:20 AM, when Broward Sheriff’s Sergeant Christopher Reyka came upon two suspicious vehicles parked to the rear of a Walgreen’s drug store in Pompano Beach, Florida. Upon initiating an investigation, Sgt. Reyka was shot and killed by assailants who have yet to be brought to justice.

Chris, a former United States Marine, was a: good son, loyal brother, doting father, loving husband, committed friend and humble hero. Chris left behind a beautiful wife and four exceptional children; a family who has survived a horrific loss.
